Pecan Toffee Bars
Rich and buttery. Just like the Big Easy. - abby
1 c butter
1 c sugar
1 egg
2 c flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 c pecans pieces (not halves)
Preheat the oven to 350.
Separate the egg. Cream the butter and sugar. Add the yolk. Add the flour and cinnamon. Press the dough into a greased 9" x 13" cookie sheet. Beat the egg whites until stiff and spread over the top of the dough. Sprinkle with the pecan pieces and lightly press them into the dough a little.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the top begins to brown.
Cut into squares while the bars are still warm. When it cools take out of the pan and serve.
