The Red Lentil Soup That Kate Makes

Saute in oil:
1 onion
3-4 cloves garlic
1-1.5 TBSP cumin
Some salt
2-3 serrano or jalapeno peppers
Add 2 cups of red lentils and sauté for 5 minutes more.
Add 4 cups of broth (we use chicken broth, but you may improvise) and bring to just below a boil.
Add a can of diced tomatoes, turn down the heat and simmer until lentils are soft.
